Coming to Genshin Impact from a completely different genre

Spent most of the weekend on this and I am still not sure I understand it. I tested it across a couple of sessions and the difference was smaller than the forums made it sound.

Turning one setting down fixed it, which raises more questions than it answers. Thanks in advance to anyone who chips in.

Had the exact same issue. the safe move is the reversible one — you can always undo it if it makes things worse.

Same boat here. do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

Let us know which part worked.

Worth checking first: the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

Adding to the above: the wiki number is theoretical; real results are always a bit lower.

That fixed it for me, at least.

Worth checking first: the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

Had the exact same issue. nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect.

Slightly different take — the wiki number is theoretical; real results are always a bit lower.

For what it is worth, measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

Short version: do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

I went through this last month. measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

This is the bit people miss — it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything.

Not the answer you want, but verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.
