Difficulty settings — do you drop down or push through?

Spent most of the weekend on this and I am still not sure I understand it. It works fine most of the time, but the edge cases are where I keep getting stuck.

Rolling back to the previous version made the problem disappear entirely. Thanks in advance to anyone who chips in.

Agreed on most of this, except region and server load matter more than most guides acknowledge.

The usual fix here is if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.

From experience, temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.

Short version: you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.

Had the exact same issue. the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

That fixed it for me, at least.

Counterpoint: it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.
