Coming to Honkai: Star Rail from a completely different genre

Writing this up while it is fresh, because I will forget the details otherwise. It seems to depend heavily on region, which nobody mentions anywhere.

Writing this up while it is fresh, because I will forget the details otherwise. It seems to depend heavily on region, which nobody mentions anywhere.

It behaves as expected on one account and not on another, same device. Would rather learn the right way now than build a bad habit.

In my testing, the defaults are conservative on purpose, so there is usually headroom to gain.

The usual fix here is if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably.

Only partly related, but you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.

For what it is worth, the difference is real but small enough that you may not notice it while playing.

Others may have a cleaner method.

Counterpoint: the safe move is the reversible one — you can always undo it if it makes things worse.

Let us know which part worked.

Depends on your setup, but broadly do the cheap diagnostic first — it costs nothing and rules out half the causes.

Short version: the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.

For what it is worth, give it a clean reinstall before assuming the hardware is at fault.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

Counterpoint: it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.

In my testing, the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

Counterpoint: verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.

Same boat here. do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

That fixed it for me, at least.

Not the answer you want, but it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything.

Report back once you have tried it.

Agreed on most of this, except keep a note of what you changed, otherwise you cannot undo it cleanly later.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.
