VALORANT — Playing on a schedule versus playing whenever

This started as a small annoyance and turned into a proper rabbit hole. I do not want to sink more time or money into it before I understand what I am optimising for.

Curious whether that matches what everyone else is seeing.

Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, that behaviour is intentional, even though it is poorly explained in-game.
