   Game reinstalls itself every time I launch the client

   I want to get ahead of this before it becomes a habit. My results were consistent across three attempts, so I do not think it was luck. Two settings appear to interact in a way the menu does not hint at. I can post logs or screenshots if that would make this easier to diagnose.

   Speaking as someone who got it wrong initially, if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably. Others may have a cleaner method.

    Agreed on most of this, except nine times out of ten it is a driver or a background process, not the thing you suspect. Others may have a cleaner method.
