Neverness to Everness

Shader compilation on first launch — how long did yours take?

Quick one for the people who have put more hours into this than me. Two settings appear to interact in a way the menu does not hint at.

Quick one for the people who have put more hours into this than me. Two settings appear to interact in a way the menu does not hint at.

Turning one setting down fixed it, which raises more questions than it answers. I will report back once I have tested it properly.

Worth checking first: the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

In my testing, verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.

Agreed on most of this, except keep a note of what you changed, otherwise you cannot undo it cleanly later.

Others may have a cleaner method.

I went through this last month. the trick is to change one thing at a time and actually note the result before touching anything else.

In my testing, worth testing on a second account to rule out something profile-specific.

Agreed on most of this, except that behaviour is intentional, even though it is poorly explained in-game.

Let us know which part worked.

This comes up a lot, so: the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.

Short version: the safe move is the reversible one — you can always undo it if it makes things worse.

Others may have a cleaner method.

Not the answer you want, but this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

Agreed on most of this, except the difference is real but small enough that you may not notice it while playing.
