Shard pulls — save or spend during events?

Quick one for the people who have put more hours into this than me. Half the advice online is a year out of date, which is why I wanted a current thread.

The numbers look fine on paper, but it feels noticeably worse in practice. If someone has a link to a proper explanation, I will take it.

In my testing, it depends heavily on your specific setup, so take any single number with a grain of salt.

The usual fix here is that behaviour is intentional, even though it is poorly explained in-game.

For what it is worth, keep a note of what you changed, otherwise you cannot undo it cleanly later.

Slightly different take — temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.

Short version: verify the files before anything else; it catches more problems than people expect.

In my testing, you get most of the benefit from the first adjustment; everything after that is marginal.
