   Energy management for free-to-play accounts

   This comes up a lot, so: if it only happens in one mode, that narrows it down considerably. That fixed it for me, at least.

   Not a complaint, just genuinely puzzled by the behaviour. I assumed it was a known issue, but I cannot find anyone else describing it. Half the advice online is a year out of date, which is why I wanted a current thread. Feel free to tell me I have missed something obvious.

   Slightly different take — it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything. Others may have a cleaner method.
