World of Warships — Anti-cheat blocking launch after a Windows update

Coming back after a long break and trying to catch up. Once it clicked, it felt obvious, but getting there took far longer than it should have.

Coming back after a long break and trying to catch up. Once it clicked, it felt obvious, but getting there took far longer than it should have.

I got it working once and then could not repeat it, which is the frustrating part. Marking this solved once something actually works.

Adding to the above: ignore the loudest advice; the boring answer is usually the correct one here.

Others may have a cleaner method.

Agreed on most of this, except region and server load matter more than most guides acknowledge.

That fixed it for me, at least.

Slightly different take — keep a note of what you changed, otherwise you cannot undo it cleanly later.

Agreed on most of this, except the averages hide the problem; look at the one percent lows instead.

Not the answer you want, but this changed for me after the last patch, so older threads may steer you wrong.

Others may have a cleaner method.

From experience, it is almost always a setting rather than hardware, so try the free fixes before spending anything.

Not the answer you want, but temperature is the usual culprit when performance degrades over a session.

Agreed on most of this, except check whether an overlay is running before blaming the game itself.

Had the exact same issue. that behaviour is intentional, even though it is poorly explained in-game.

Counterpoint: do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

For what it is worth, do not copy someone else’s config wholesale — start from defaults and adjust to your own setup.

In my testing, measure before and after, otherwise you are just guessing whether it helped.

Worth a shot before anything drastic.

Counterpoint: the community guide covers this better than I can, but the summary is to prioritise the basics first.
